Hi,

I'm trying to comiple some of my sw at home using my portable PC with VRPC.

The Acorn C/C++ seems ok, but I use "makatic" to automate the compiling/linking process and this doesn't seem to work on VRPC.

I use it dayly on my Iyonix and RiscPC with no problems.

The error given is always
"Makatic2 2.17 started...
Internal error: abort on instruction fetch at &00464074"
then follows a postmortem...

Anybody using it has any suggestion?

Does it run from RAM disc or ADFS OK? It might be a filing system problem, make sure you have all the latest upgrades from the VirtualAcorn website so you know you have an up to date HostFS.

No, sorry, it doesn't work from RAMFS nor ADFS: it gives exactly the same error.

I double checked and I have all the updates installed.

Any guess?

It might be a module incompatability - try copying the relevent modules
from the RiscPC to a directory next to Makatic. Double click on each
module by hand then try running Makatic.

If it is a module problem by trial and error you should be able to find the problem.

I think Makatic doesn't use any module: it's just an utility running from commandline/obeyfile...

It is in the public domain now, so if you need I can send you an example.

Anyway, thanks for your affort!
