I've been running RPC Adjust on a Vista host for several months now and mostly all is well... just one problem which I can't seem to solve... I have a 'real' SARPC on the network... each of the RISCOS mchines can 'see' each other's shared drives and their contents, but when I try to copy a file of more than a couple of hundred bytes over the network, after a period of a countdown hour-glass running, an error message appears 'The machine containing the shared disc does not respond', (shorter files copy OK). I've checked all the permissions I can find and tried switching off the Vista firewall (Comodo) but to no avail. Any thoughts gratefully appreciated!
Richard

That sounds like it could be one of the (fairly) well known problems with ShareFS.
Problems can happen when the two machines have network interfaces of greatly differing speeds. Effectively one machine ends up waiting so long for the other one to respond to say its recieved the data OK that it gives up.
I believe there are some "hidden" RISC OS configuration options to get round this (on the RPC). I don't know what these are - so I suggest asking on the comp.sys.acorn.networking newsgroup.
