Hi everybody.
I've had a problem since I installed VRPC on my Mac that it won't read CDs - error message in earlier thread. I installed Beta Release two last night and it's exactly the same. This makes me wonder if it's a Mac setting rather than a VRPC one.
I don't know if it helps, but when I boot into VRPC, I get a message "Hardware profiles disabled".

I've not had any other reports of this problem so far. The models of DVD/CD drives in Macs is fairly limited - so it could be that your drive simply doesn't work with RISC OS - but given the error message on booting something else could be wrong.
Search through your boot sequence for any folders called "DS_Store". IF you have any then delete them.
Secondly from the desktop press F12 and type
*CDFS
*CDDevices
What gets reported? i.e. is RISC OS recongising the drive at all?

I have a file in the root directory called /DS_Store, but no folders. cddevices returns the following:
Drive Dev Lun Card Product Capacity Firmware
00 0 0 0 DVD-RW DVR-K04L 2899 Mbytes D441

Right - so it's recongising the drive hardware iteslf - but not managing to read the data from a CD. This can sometimes be sorted out by softloading a different version of CDFSSoftAtapi, or by installing VCDZoom.
VCDZoom can be found in HardDisc4.$.Filing - just follow the instructions.

VCDZoom sorted the problem.
Thanks Aaron.
