All my files seem to be unlocked. I would like to lock some, e.g. Ovation Pro Stationery, to protect against accidents.
File->Access->Protected has no effect (OS X 10.5.1 machine)?
Have I missed something please?
thanks.

I can't give you a definitive answer for Macs but, as VirtualRPC running under Windows gives exactly the same symptoms, perhaps the following will assist.
As you say, going for File>Access>Protected doesn't seem to achieve anything (in particular, 'Protected' does NOT have a tick against it).
However, if I access the same file under Windows and set it to 'Read only', this prevents my overwriting it under RISC OS (error message 'Access violation').
This seems to work for individual files, but (as far as I can tell) not directories, so it can take a little while to repeat for multiple files.
Maybe the same sort of thing works for OS X?
