The full release of VRPC for the Mac will include NetSurf as part of the disc build. The DNS problem that prevented NetSurf and Hermes (plus some others) not working has been tracked down and fixed.
I've been through my notes and I can't see any comments about MessengerPro not working, however I suspect that it was suffering the same problems as NetSurf etc.

Mpro doesn't download your mail/news -
you use !hermes / !popstar / !newshound for contacting your mail or newsserver
As far as I can see Mpro does work (VA beta 2)

Hello, I'm new here, but perhaps you remember me, Kees, from another group.
I use VA with RiscOS 6 on a new iMac.
Everything works fine exept Hermes - in Messenger - that can't make a connection.
Is there a solution for this problem?

A new internet plugin (which addresses problems with OmniClient and LanMan98) will be going up for download next week. If you still have difficulties after you've installed this new vesion then let me know and we will have to do some more investigation.

I assume you are using the release version of VRPC for the Mac not be Beta version.

That's correct, I don't have the beta version.

Thank you Aaron, this works fine here. Hermes loads and sends as it should.
I was a little confused at first because the serial number of my CD was not mentioned on your site following the link above. I think the serial number for the Mac CD should start with 8004 and not with 804.

Regards,
Peter

Internet update seems to fix my issues with Netfetch but I still get an error "No writable memory at this address" when I try to run MPro server (I have upgraded to RISCOS 6.10). Any suggestions?

The "No writeable memory..." error usually means the wimpslot isn't big enough.

Shift double-click on the MPro Server application, then shift double-click on the !Run file. Look for a line starting with "WimpSlot" and bump up the numbers (say, double them).

Still fails :-(

Anything else worth trying?

Talk to R-Comp, it's their product. Perhaps it needs an update for RISC OS 6?
Does it work OK if you go back to RISC OS 4.39?

I did a clean reinstall rather than copy across and it now works fine.

Thanks for the suggestions.
