I can read Acorn CD-Roms okay but when I put in a blank CD I just get the message that there is no audio track on the disc. I am wanting to burn some files onto a CD but if the blank CD is not coming up as a folder then I am completely stumped. Any help would be welcome.

This might be an interesting time to try something (that probably won't work - but you never know)...

Pop the blank CD in the Mac's drive
Click on the MacPop icon on the RISC OS iconbar
Does it find the "Blank/untitled" CD?
If so can it open it?
If so can stuff be dragged to the "blank CD" filer window?
If so can the CD be "written/finalised" from Mac OS X?

I am still quite new to VA-Mac but I have looked in the Manual and am still confused. What is the MacPop icon that is supposed to be on the RiscOS icon bar - I have all the disc drive, printer and apps icons on the left and the usual clock, screen resolution and the 4-cog icon which shows memory allocation on the right but no sign of anything that looks like it could be a 'MacPop'....

If you haven't got a copy in your VRPC for Mac install (and it was only added a few weeks ago) then you can download one from the downloads section of the main VirtualAcorn site.

Burning CD's is not so easy
But I have a workaround

1)On the Mac create a map on your desktop called Apple-Acorn
2)In VA create a new share to the Apple-Acorn map
(or use !MacMount --- easy :) )

3) From RISCOS just copy all your files you want to burn to the share 'Apple-Acorn'
4)Switch to MacOSX and open Terminal
5) in terminal type:

cd desktop <ENTER>
hdiutil makehybrid -iso -o test.iso Apple-Acorn/ <ENTER>

this will create a iso file called 'test' on your desktop
Open test.iso with diskutility and choose 'burn'

Easy no need for roxio toast or another expensive program
If you have burned the test.iso file you can delete the file and empy the Apple-Acorn map for your next burn-project

I have used Automator and map-actions to do this fully automatic - but that's up to you to try for yourself :)
Or create a finder plugin (you can right-click on the Apple-Acorn map and choose 'Create iso" )

If you have a copy of !CDburn you can make an .iso file and put that file in the Apple-Acorn share(you do not need the terminal commands if you use !CDBurn)
