I can't set a filetype under VA for PAR2 files.
every par2 file I download is marked as 'Text"
(*DOSMAP won't work because I may only use 3 characters )
Is there a way to solve this ?

- selecting the par2 file and settype it to PAR2 does work but my program does not respond to text (&fff) files so I have to do this everytime by hand.
Not really the end of the world but a solution would be nice :)

You will need to set up a HostFS extension for this file type. The HostFS extensions file is hidden inside the HostFS plugin inside the main VirtualRPC application (right click and then click on "Show Package Contents" top open it. Once you get down through the folder to HostFS do the same to open it.

The HostFS extensions file is human readable so it should be easy to add the appropriate extension.

Thanks

it works --- (for 50%)

But I think it is a problem with the yEnc port for RO.

I can for example save a file with !StrongEd with extension /RAR or /PAR2 and then the file appears with the correct filetype and sprite

The yEnc program won't settype the correct files if it is a rar or par2 file
(it does work however with mp3 / jpeg and so on )

Time to write a new yEnc decoder that actually works :)

BTW this is on the MAC version and the PC version of Virtual Acorn (both running RO6.14)
