Damn! Someone has noticed. The problem relates to trying to
match a modern PC type keyboard to the old style Archimedes
keyboard layout (dig out an old keyboard and you will see
what I mean).

In theory you could correct the problem using a copy of
IKHG (International Keyboard Handler Generator), or if
anyone has a copy that will work reliably (as opposed to
crashing every minute) on VA5000 I will make a new key
driver and correct the fault.

I've found if tilde isn't with the # key, then it may hide with the ` key (next to 1)

OK!

Next question (from me!)

Where's the ' key? My keyboard has one, but it doesn't produce a hash!

Its the top left key - next to 1 and above TAB - but that
won't produce a Tilde either - until I get a working IKHG
the easiest way of entering a ~ is to hold down ALT and
type 126 on the numeric keypad.
