Hi,

I have v 1.2 on CD Rom which sometimes starts fine but most of the time starts in 2 colour 640 x 480 screen mode running slow, it is running on a compaq latop celeron processor.

I have tried setting the processor speed manually (guess work) using the value VA had guessed which seems to make no difference.

I thought I would upgrade from the net but when I try ton install the first update it says it can't find a version number and so won't let me upgrade.

Any suggestions much appreciated as I need to get Prophet onto it for taking to the accountants :?

as far as i know the program, 1.2v isn't laptop friendly... i think 1.3 and 1.4 are, so they may help with the screen mode.

as for the speed, it does seem to depend on what h/w is in the computer, and what kind of applications it is running in the background.

I hope thats of some help.

I would recommend getting the free upgrade to version 1.3
from the website. Having updated your copy run it.

Now switch to a window and go to the Tools.Options
window (from the VA menus along the top of the VA window).

Click the display tab and see if hardware scalling is selected.
If it is then turn it off and click Apply then click OK.

If it is off then turn it on and click Apply. Now turn it off
and click Apply then OK.

Now quit and re-load VA and hopefully that will solve the
problem
