I'm considering purchasing Virtual Acorn (well actually I'm considering download the demo version with a view of buying the thing) and have a few questions.

Firstly what's the quality of the sound like?

Secondly the 'ArcDisk' utility. Does that allow me to insert my Acorn formatted disks into by PC disk drive, generate the .adf from that? Does it matter that I have Windows 98?

Thirdly I have several (single) disk games that I miss now I'm using a PC. Do these work at normal speed or does their speed scale up due to fact that I'm on a faster computer. I seem to recall there was similar problem with increases in speed with one of the faster Arm chips (many!) years ago.

And fourthly, I have Celleron 500 (MHz) processor. How does that complicate the questions above? I've currently got Red Squirrel and Elite seems to run at half-speed (based on the hyperspace countdown), although there is no lag in the key presses. Is this due the program or computer?

Thanks.

Dealing with your questions in order and applying them
to VirtualA5000 V1.4.

Sound is far better then an A5000 (much clearer)

ArcDisc (supplied with VA5000) allows you to copy Acorn
formatted discs as .adf files on Windows 98

All the games we have tried run at the correct speed.

Elite will be slow on RS on a 50Mhz Celeron cos the
computer isn't fast enough. VA5000 is quite a few times
faster than RS.
