I noted the re-appearance of the network download on the website - is this the one you spoke of which should allow LM98 to work over my wireless network?

I've attempted to install this on my Alpha but it reports:
'This program cannot upgrade the installed version of VirtualRPC-SE Networking Upgrade because of the following reason: Invalid Product'

What am I doing wrong?

Are you running Select? The current upgrade on the site is for
RISC OS 4 as supplied with VirtualAcorn.

I am running Select, yes.

Will there be an alternative upgrade for Select users?

Will it be sufficient ot revert to original boot sequence to get this upgrade to install, and would it then be possible to make it run with Select?

Does this upgrade include the fix to allow LM98 to work?

I will try and sort out a Select version for this soon, you could
revert to the old boot sequence then it should install.

Personally I can't get LanMan98 to work, but then I have never
got it to work on anything

However we have a number of users who are using LanMan98
with no reported problems.

Thanks - I would appreciate a Select-installable version. In the meanwhile I may get around to trying the current version on the original boot sequence.

As I said in my original posting, LM98 works fine on the wired interface - it just won't work on the wireless connection.

Hi, I installed the network upgrade onto Select 3i3, with no problems, other than minor one relating to memory use. Other than that all appears to work fine. I can use windows xp to log onto the internet, as dial up, via inbuild softmodem on my MD Alpha, then run VARiscPc and run Oregano2 to download from the web. Excellent.

Only problem, which I have already documented is that memory allocation to RISC OS is only about 20Mb on my 256Mb Alpha.

You need to alter the model.cfg ifle to allocate more memory to
RISC OS, this should be covered in Appendix 2 of your
VirtualAcorn manual.
