Right I've posted before that I had problems with the mouse.

At the moment with WindowsXP I'm using a cheap PS/2 three button mouse that VRPc doesn't seem to work ie middle button for menu.

Can anyone post info on a fairly basic three button mouse that works correctly with VRPc.

I've just bought the program so a mouse under 30 UKps would be best.

Perhaps a wheel mouse would be the best choice?

Thanks, Dave C.

Any cheapo scroll mouse should work fine (on most mice pressing
the scroll wheel activates the middle button). I purchased a box
of 5 such mice for a tenner at a local computer fair, and they
all work fine when using the standard Windows driver. If you
are having mouse problems then make sure that:

1. You have the mouse plugged in before the computer is turned
on, this may sound silly but sometimes laptop users don't.
2. If you have a "fancy" mouse driver make sure the centre button
is allocated some extra gadget of some sort.
3. You aren't using a USB mouse plugged into the PS2 port using an
adapter.
4. That Windows is set up to use the mouse you actually have.

Sorry to reply to myself - just to post that I picked up a second-hand MicroSoft IntelliMouse (with scroll wheel) for 5UKPs at the big Northern Computer Show today.

It works fine with VirtualRPC - and it's much better that using the keyboard key for Menu.

Regards to myself, Dave C.

I also have this problem. I find:

It doesn't matter whether the mouse is plugged in before booting the PC or not.

If I then plug in a USB wheel mouse, the middle buttons on both mice work.

If I then unplug the USB mouse, the middle button on the cheapo mouse continues to work.

Anyone who understands windows knowe what can be done about this?

The mouse in question is a Genius 3-button mouse, no wheel or other gadgets.

I'am talking about a standard PS2 mouse above not USB - I think that is
a different problem.

Hope you get sorted,

Dave C.

So am I.

The sequence is:

Plug in PS/2 mouse. Middle button doesn't work.
Plug in USB mouse as well - middle buttons on both mice work
Unplug USB mouse. Middle button on PS/2 mouse continues to work.

So adding a USB mouse somehow changes the way both mice are seen by Windows.

I thought that might help track down where the problem might lie.
