Hi,
Altough the drivers are installed correctly (checked in Hardware manager), the drive light blinks when access to the drive is made but.... I always get the message 'drive is empty'. I have used all kind of floppies, ADFS LD/HD, DOS 1440k it's always reporting empty!
The drive itself is either a Sony or a Samsung unit according to the delivery sheet.
The OS is winXPpro + all patches, the system in a tower configuration.
Any thoughts?
Nico

I'm assuming that you are running Select, rather than Adjust. If so then check the floppy works OK from vanilla RISC OS 4.02. If it does then you will need to start up VRPC with a floppy in the drive. Then Select will be able to read discs.
And no, I don't have the faintest idea why this happens. I can only guess that it's something to do with the way Select re-sets the machine after the new ROM has been softloaded.

Aaron thanks for this quick response and cure to the problem.
I didn't try the 402 approach but rebooted with a floppy inserted and presto.
I was indeed running VRPC-SE, Select 4.39 as mentioned in my sig.
