I've seen this mentioned in a few posts, but haven't seen the definitive solution. At times the pointer on my set-up stays motionless for 3-4 seconds, then will move for about half a second, then freezes again. Needless to say this renders the computer unusable.

I've seen CallWin32 mentioned as a possible answer to this, however I have that installed anyway (although I wouldn't know what it was doing and whether it was doing it!), also switching off the sound. Once when this happened, I went to the command line to type in "audio off", however the command line filled with spurious characters, suggesting that the delays may be caused by keyboard input.

Does anyone recognise this phenomenon, and has a solution been found for it? VRPC is completely unusable when this happens, so I can't imagine it's happening to everyone!?!

I think I can now confirm that there is spurious character insertion going on: if I have an Edit window open, it auto-repeats and fills with characters. This only happens within VRPC - if I go back to Windows and open a Notepad window, nothing happens, which suggests it is not the laptop keyboard at fault.

Maybe the laptop is tired (like me). I'll power down and see whether it happens tomorrow.

You need to turn off the Audio from the VirtualAcorn control panel,
not from inside RISC OS.

Switch VA to a Window
Go to TOOLS
Go to OPTIONS
Go to AUDIO
Untick ENABLED
Click APPLY
Click OK
Quit and reload VirtualRPC-SE
