Unable to create back buffer

VirtualRPC requires a PC with at least 16MB of video memory. Your PC does not have enough free video memory for VirtualRPC to grab a section for RISC OS to use. It may also be that you have not installed the drivers for your graphics card. You can get more information on drivers and how to find out if they are missing from this Knowledge Base Article.

If the drivers for your graphics card are installed then you can try lowering the resolution and/or the number of colours Windows uses, then try running VirtualRPC again. If this does not work then as a last resort you and try disabling your graphics cards Hardware Acceleration. The setting for this is usually found from the Display Properties Settings Tab (right click on a blank piece of the Windows backdrop and click on Properties now click on the Settings Tab). Now click on the Advanced button. Depending on the version of Windows, and the make/model of your graphics card the control for Hardware Acceleration may be on a Tab marked either Performance or Troubleshoot. If VirtualRPC still does not run you will need to either add more RAM to your graphics card or replace it with a new one.
